Welcome to Swimarin

Swimarin is one of 10 teams in the Marin Swim League and swims at the San Rafael High School pool, conveniently located in Central San Rafael.

Swimarin, founded by Olympic Swimmer, Ann Curtis in 1981, is a nonprofit organization and is the only swim team in San Rafael that is not affiliated with a private club or sponsored by a community or city organization. We have a diverse membership that has historically drawn swimmers from all parts of Marin County and San Francisco. Our swimmers have gone on to swim at the collegiate, national and international levels! At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Ben Wildman-Tobriner, a former Swimarin swimmer won a gold medal!

We offer a competitive swim team experience for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. The season runs from March through July. We also offer a pre-team program that focus on stroke development and this program known as “Shark Pups” runs from May through July. Our core value is personal achievement (getting best times) in a fun and supportive environment. Professional coaches bring out the potential in every swimmer.

We, the volunteer parents and swimmers of Swimarin, believe that swimming is the ideal sport for many youngsters. Swimmers develop strength and confidence in individual and team competition. For our younger swimmers, the sport provides a lifetime of water safety. Swimming up through the teen years also provides an excellent foundation for other physical pursuits during the “off” season. At Swimarin, our swimmers come back year after year for the competition and for the camaraderie that makes the Swimarin community so special.
